Deputy Mayor Wang Wensong visited Hefei International Land Port for Research and Guidance

On the morning of July 25th, braving high temperature and scorching heat and with light luggage and few attendants, Wang Wensong, Deputy Mayor of the municipal government, accompanied by the Party secretary and chairman of the board of Hefei Industry Investment Group, Yong Fengshan, went to Hefei International Land Port to investigate, visited the grassroots employees and workers and inspected the construction status of the customs supervision area within the Hefei North freight yard. Deputy Mayor Wang Wensong presided over a symposium to hear the report of Hefei International Land Port. Member of the Party committee, director and deputy general manager of the group company, Shen Xiaogen, participated in the investigation and made a report speech. All members of the administration team of Hefei International Land Port attended the symposium.

At the investigation symposium, Shen Xiaogen first warmly welcomed the arrival of Deputy Mayor Wang, and reported the development of Hefei  China-Europe Block Trains in terms of national ranking, total size, line nodes, and construction of the entire industrial chain, etc.  Concerning the "Seven Strongs" initiative such as strong scale, strong base, and strong trade, Shen Xiaogen briefly reported the future work arrangement, and made a request for support from the government departments.

Chairman Yong Fengshan pointed out that under the direct care of Deputy Mayor Wang, Hefei-Xinjiang-Europe block trains were planted and sprouted in the New Station District and the Hefei International Land Port thrived and achieved gratifying results. Next, Hefei International Land Port should make breakthroughs in expanding new fields, dare to explore and innovate, strengthen provincial and municipal linkages, actively strive for various types of support, enhance self-development function, achieve sustainable development, and create a new window for Hefei to open to the outside world.

Deputy Mayor Wang Wensong fully affirmed the work of Hefei International Land Port after listening to the reports. He said that in reviewing the development process of the Hefei-Xinjiang-Europe block trains in the past few years, the New Station District has the merits of its establishment, the Industry Investment Group has laid the foundation for growth and Hefei International Land Port itself has the power of development. Through the reports, I feel deeply that although Hefei International Land Port was established shortly, the development momentum is very good. The operation of the trains is stable and advances, the planning and construction are progressing steadily, the personnel and staff are refreshingly new, and there is a busy scene everywhere setting a solid foundation for the next step high-quality development.

Regarding the problems encountered by Hefei International Land Port and the next step development, Deputy Major Wang Wensong offered guiding opinions and put forward five requirements: First, to determine the company's development vision, with building an international modern logistics enterprise as a development goal, adhering to high-quality development and establishing a banner in the construction of Hefei’s new highland of opening-up. Second, to focus on strengthening and optimization, benchmarking cities who first started to manage the block trains such as Chongqing, Chengdu, Zhengzhou, etc., insisting on differentiated development, focusing on foreign timber, agricultural products and other resource advantage products in the operation of the train, increasing the proportion of EB shipments, and further expanding related business in the WB/EB shipments.

Third, to further integrate resources, form a sound logistics industry chain and service chain, strengthen linkages with other opening-up platforms such as airports, comprehensive bonded zones and export processing zones, expand upstream and downstream, spread to the surrounding areas, and actively open up new business areas. Satisfying our own needs and getting aid for our own development. Fourth, to actively strive for provincial and municipal support, strengthen communication with the Business Bureau, the Development and Reform Commission, Finance Bureau, customs and other government departments, and strive for more support in work report, policy support, business guidance, gathering conditions from all sides to make success. Fifth, to adhere to the two-wheel driver, focus on the market-oriented approach, and be good at integrating and coordinating various policies such as transportation, production, and sales, and form a self-development  function as soon as possible to achieve sustainable development.
