From February 27th to March 1st, the 2nd Rail-Water Intermodal Development Forum and "2023 RCEP Trade and Cross-Border Logistics Seminar" was held in Qingdao, jointly organized by China Communications Association, Shandong Provincial Department of Transportation and Shandong Provincial Port Group, hosted by China Shipping Weekly and supported by the People's Government of Shannan District, Qingdao.
The conference aims to promote the high-quality development of multimodal transport represented by rail-water intermodal transport, facilitate the realization of the development goals of rail-water intermodal transport, actively serve RCEP, and improve and enhance the logistics service level in the region. Experts, scholars and representatives from national ministries and commissions, national railway groups, railroad transport enterprises, port and shipping logistics enterprises, research institutions, etc. discussed the high-quality development of multimodal transport represented by rail-water intermodal transport.
During the conference, the list of excellent cases of container rail-water intermodal transport in 2022 was announced, and the project of "Hefei-Ningbo" sea-rail intermodal transport channel declared by Hefei International Inland Port Development Co.
Sea-rail intermodal transport has effectively brought into play the advantages of "railroad + port" with large capacity, great depth and high efficiency, and has become an important initiative for Hefei to connect with Ningbo Port/Shanghai Port and the "Maritime Silk Road" channel. The sea-railway intermodal transport channel has become an important channel for Hefei and even Anhui enterprises' goods to all over the world, helping Hefei to connect the "Belt and Road" and the Yangtze River Economic Belt in a multi-channel and multi-modal transport mode, and providing land for the smooth passage of the "Maritime Silk Road". "Green transport guarantee".
Since the opening of Hefei Sea-Rail Liner (Hefei-Ningbo/Shanghai), the shipping volume has been increasing year by year, from more than 700 TEU in 2015 to more than 54,000 TEU in 2022, with a total of more than 190,000 TEU; the cargo source categories have been gradually enriched, from the initial single light industrial products such as apparel to various types of solar energy, white home appliances, equipment manufacturing, flat panel displays, auto parts and so on. It has served more than 20 large customers including JA Solar, Midea, JAC Motors, etc., and more than 100 small and medium-sized customers such as Jiatong and Cool Doudin Children's Products.
Next, Hefei International Land Port will continue to encrypt the operation of China-European trains, expand more new sea-rail intermodal transport channels, help "Anhui" "Hefei made" exported to the international market, and drive the development of Hefei export-oriented economy.
During the conference, the first forum of iron-water intermodal transport initiative was held. The meeting summarized the development results of China's rail-water intermodal transport in the past year, and put forward opinions and suggestions on future development. The units of rail-water intermodal transport initiatives exchanged speeches on the development of rail-water intermodal transport, operational difficulties and development suggestions.
The second symposium on the development of cross-border train business was held at the same time on February 28. Mr. Dong Hui, Deputy Director of Freight Department of China National Railway Group Corporation, Mr. Chen Hongbing, Executive Vice President of Shipping and Logistics Branch of China Communications and Transportation Association, and other leaders and guests from China Railway Container, relevant railroad bureau groups, cross-border liner platform companies, freight forwarders and cargo owners attended the meeting. As a guest of honor, Chen Feng, deputy general manager of Hefei International Land Port Company, spoke on the development situation of China-European Liner (Hefei), problems and suggestions on the development of the Liner, and communicated with the State Railway Group on the line plan and new energy vehicle transportation.
