New Era, New Mission: Hefei International Land Port Launched the First China Railway Express of 2018

In the afternoon of January 6, 2018, facing an unexpected snowstorm, Hefei International Land Port Company, a subsidiary of Hefei Industrial Investment Holding Group, took emergency measures. Due to its efforts and the corporation of relevant departments, at 17:08 the first China Railway Express of 2018, carrying fifty 40-foot containers, successfully set off from Hefeibei Railway Station to Hamburg, Germany, marking the start of Hefei International Land Port’s service. The cargo train will travel a 12,000-km journey via Alataw Pass in north-western China and Malaszewicze in Poland, arrive at the destination about 16 days later, which is 20 days faster than sea transportation.

Hefei International Land Port Co.,Ltd., reorganized by Hefei Industrial Investment Holding Group on the basis of the former China Railway Express operation platform according to the “Belt and Road” Initiative and guiding principles of Party Committee and City Government, opened in November, 2018. It has missions to upgrade the logistics industry of Hefei, attract investment from enterprises in other regions and countries, promote culture exchanges between Hefei and Europe, improve local economic growth, and enhance the competitiveness of Hefei as a node city, a transportation hub on the Belt and Road route.

Since the first China Railway Express of 2018 has been launched successfully, in the upcoming year Hefei International Land Port Company expects to run two departure trips weekly, operate return trips and the China-Central Asia railway route on a more regular basis. It also plans to support the development of sea-rail combined transportation.

Standing at the new historical starting point, Hefei Industrial Investment Holding Group commences to use International Land Port as a platform to accelerate the construction of "four ports, three districts and one center" project of Hefei, to find a new comprehensive pattern of interacting with the other parts of the world.
